DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORIES

Diagnostic Laboratories

ABSTRACT

Laboratory Diagnostics is a field of medical discipline that plays important role in the diagnosis of the disease in patients. The quality culture of these laboratories is very important as they are essential for diagnosis after which the patient goes through the treatment. In this assignment, we are analyzing and examining the qualities that should be adopted by the Diagnostic Laboratories. The procedures for adopting the quality culture and costs that are to be bear by the diagnostic laboratory is also analyzed in the assignment. There are different costs that have to be borne by the concern authorities. Similarly different standards have been set to evaluate the quality of these Diagnostic Laboratories.

Introduction

In the early twentieth century, the doctors used to rely on rare occasions on laboratory procedures to diagnose diseases; two of the most common were diabetes and nephritis and only sometimes went to the pharmacist for dosages though they were simple.

Discussion

It was around mid-century was when the doctors have more contact with the laboratory in order to have more technical knowledge of both the old and the new diseases begin to emerge. Even when attending to their patients and the laboratory, the doctor is overwhelmed by the emergence of new advances in laboratory procedures. With having to care for their patients, giving them less attention, involves the physician to lecture people who they trust, to handle the laboratory. Moreover while trusting on lab manager; they must manage to renew knowledge with new techniques that begin to emerge, as well as, operation and maintenance of equipment, which makes laboratory procedures more quickly and accurately (1).

The doctor continues to interpret the results that are provided by the laboratory. If the doctors can clarify the meaning of the analysis with greater accuracy, which is possible to a greater or lesser extent, they can do it on their own. But both physiological and pathological data are also provided by the laboratory technician so that these results lead to disease monitoring and its treatment.

Diagnostic laboratories are Orphanet. Orphanet are those presenting an analysis for the analysis of an unusual illness or a collection of exceptional diseases, and those representing hereditary testing whatsoever the incidence of the illness troubled. They developed the list in cooperation with EuroGentest and are responsible for data validation and accreditation of external quality control. Data on certification of laboratories are called Reporting data

The information available in these laboratories is that provided by the scientists responsible for these activities. They must apply if they want their laboratory listed. They have to give proof of their proficiency. Requests are checked by members of the Orphanet systematic optional panel of the respective country and the field concerned. The information is updated each year (2).
