Introduction

The most important asset of an organization is its human capital. Unless, this capital is not fully trained and developed, they will become luggage instead of being fruitful to the organization. Therefore, in order to maintain the effective operations of an organization, it is necessary to train and develop the employees continuously. This written presentation serves the purpose to address the operational gap which is present in the organization. As a human resource management consultant, I would be addressing the gap of implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) within the organization. As a company operating in the service industry, this company needs to implement TQM so as to ensure the continuous improvement of its processes. In today's global competitive environment, it is very difficult to bypass the need of ongoing development. TQM functions on the belief that everyone involved in delivering a service to the consumer is responsible for its quality. TQM emphasize that from management to the supplier and even the consumer should be involved in the process, so as to meet the customer perceived value and expectations. Thus, in TQM, quality is designed into the service so as to avoid any errors instead of detecting and correcting them. Moreover, in order to enhance the quality on a regular basis, and to cut down costs, the company should be stress on promoting cooperation with suppliers and customers (Rawlins, 2008).

Discussion

The Need for Developing a Training Plan

A training Plan is required in order to bring change within the organization. Since, with the passage of time the needs of customers change, it is important to change the organization with these changing needs and I order to do so, employee training holds a very high significance. Through employee training, an organization can grow at a very high speed and can improve its overall performance. In bringing a totally new system into the organization, it takes all employees; from top to bottom, to alter their behaviors and pay attention to the requirements needed for understanding the new system in a better way. Although there are some other dimensions associated with employee training; however, here we will only focus on how it is going to fill the operational gap which exists in the organization at present (Data, 2011).

By developing a training program the need for implementing Total Quality Management within the organization can be addressed in a better and effective way. Since the employees would be new to this system, training would provide them the basic knowledge of how the system operates and helps in maintain a constant level of process improvement. Moreover, communicating the benefits which this new system will provide to the organization, having a consequent effect on the benefits employees are getting, will help in motivating the employees to learn more quickly. In a nutshell, the training program will eventually determine the organization's success or failure in implementing Total Quality Management (Rae, 2000).
