Leadership Principles

Introduction

Human relation in many ways is nothing but a manifestation of goodwill and common sense in practice. Higher degrees of a successful entrepreneur in the field of human relations are dependent on ways of making a job attractive be it at a supermarket or a factory. Entrepreneurs often ignore these basic things, especially when their business is growing. The initial stage of entrepreneurship involves the concern for the growth of business rather than the staff or workers that are employed. Working towards one common goal is what binds the owner of the company and its staff together. But the motivation level, the morale and enthusiasm to consistently work for the goal tends to wear off with time if the entrepreneur does not take care of the human resource oriented problem (Wheatly, 1992, p. 32).

Currently, many companies have become so burdensome that workers lose the possibility of human contact with their employers. In some areas of manufacturing high degree of automation leads to a low level of self-concept, for example, lower satisfaction and lower involvement with the product, in which employees have contributed. Many workers do not even have a clue about that the purpose for which the buyer uses their product. The nature of a significant proportion of their work is robotic and hence induces a sense of self-esteem. In the words of the Great Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky, "if needed to bring down a person to complete nothingness, for that would be enough to instruct him to carry out completely useless work. Printing is useless for many types of work performed in factories, stores and offices. Many employees feel like if they are in complete subjection to the giant, faceless machines, depriving them of dignity and individuality. Degradation of the human spirit and human science was a born relation, who must find ways of revival in workers a sense of own utility and contribute, thus improving their productivity. One of the principles of human relations states that "a person's life can be more comfortable if his work will be more meaningful (Hersey, 1972, p. 6).
