Introduction

With the rapid development of science and technology, the application of multimedia technology in Butetown History Arts Centre more and more important, this new technology are changing the traditional model of an Art Centre. The multimedia project is one kind of software helping the visitors in the multimedia information processing to deliver content and information understanding with improved efficiency and interactive ability has played an active role. In light of the growing interests in putting material online and virtual interactive methods, more and more multimedia products race to the market offering certified service quality for organizations. These products are deployed as client, in-browser, or plugins to end-user applications.

This paper provides a feasibility report for the multimedia project along with the estimations for the amount and type of work required for the implementation of a multimedia project in Butetown History Arts Centre. Alongside the chief goal to better understand the forthcoming potential of multimedia services in an Art Centre, the multimedia project has in specific the following more precise purposes:

1.To develop improved media services.

2.To improve a considerate prospective of services to be provided.

3.To authenticate the feasibility of the project.

The rapid advances in computing technology, compression technology, large bandwidth storage devices, and high speed network technology have made it feasible to provide real-time multimedia services over the networks. In order to achieve this goal, various issues have to be considered so that an end user can easily enjoy the live multimedia services.

Discussion

The objective of this project is to present feasibility of use of the Multimedia Project in Butetown History Arts Centre that provides an online material facility containing information regarding the Centre's exhibits. The material will get uploaded on the website as well as will be also available in the form of DVD. The duration for the project implementation is within five months whereas the task is to develop a DVD for the art Centre. The plan also covers the development of an automated process for the archiving of the work in progress data and information back up once in a week. In current years, people have developed progressive conscious of the prominence of multimedia. Therefore, multimedia is practiced everywhere in every organization. It has turn into a searing matter in current art Centers. With the expansion of science and technology, multimedia technology is increasingly adopted everywhere (Ozer et al, 2003, 305; Fogler, Montgomery, Zipp, 1992, 11).

5.About 10,000 in JPG files taken with digital cameras available on CD-ROMs.
