Revolutionary War

Geo-Political-Economic context

British after long seven year war gain control of American colonies. As a part of British Empire, there colonies were protected from foreign attacks by English military. The colonists, in return paid few taxes and engaged in domestic economic activities without much interference from English government (Todd, 2001). The colonists were just asked to obey the laws and regulations related foreign trade. Parliament passed the act that all trade within the empire would be conducted on ships that were manufactured by England, and crew of the ship must be English citizens. Some goods either imported or exported by colonies must be travelled through England.
