Introduction

Super size me is a movie directed Morgan Spurlock. When the health problems in America started to increase and people started to lose their health, Spurlock decided to create a movie on it. He found out that fast foods are the main reason that the people are losing their health and are facing severe problems. While deciding on the main focus of the movie, he found out that McDonalds is the main fast food that people usually prefer; therefore, he decided to make his movie on it. This paper will discuss the main theme, obesity that the movie discusses.

Discussion

The movie shows how badly fast foods are impacting the health of the people. In this movie, Morgan Spurlock decides to eat McDonalds thrice a day for an entire month. He ate everything on the menu, and the results were disastrous. Prior to eating McDonalds, he was smart, young aged man; however, the impact of McDonalds on his health was not good. He gained 24.5lbs and increased his body fat by 7 percent. This film perfectly portrays how obesity is increasing and what are the reasons behind the deteriorating health of the people of America. He pointed out that eating out every day is not at all a healthy habit and this can be seen by the increasing health problems in the country.

Heart diseases and diabetes are very common diseases that are developed due to the problems of being overweight. The health problems that affect overweight people include: blount disease, arthritis, slipped capital femoral epiphyses, asthma, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, gallstones, fatty liver, pseudotumor-cerebri, polycystic ovary syndrome, and depression.
