Computers after introduction of Microsoft Windows 8

Introduction

Computers are one of the most advanced and creative inventions of mankind. Today, every business and every household has a computer. Every organization in the world has most of its operations computerized and most of its processes being handled by the machine known as the CPU. It has made life easier for people. When you go to a superstore, the long waiting queue doesn't scare you anymore because you know that the cashier will wind up the payments quickly thanks to the computer helping him out. Currently, companies are coming up with newer and amazing technologies in the field of computing, such as multiple core processors that enable micro processing possible without the risk of melting or burning, advanced software, multi touch capabilities and super fast operating systems. Over the last decade we have seen chips with dual core, quad core and penta/hexa cores from Intel and other chip producing companies that can support new and fast software and operations. More cores mean the computing tasks get distributed among different cores and there is less heat generation. With the advent of the Core i3, i5 and i7, chip makers have taken micro processing to a whole new level. This gave companies like Microsoft and Apple to make new operating systems that completely absolve the old ones and give people a new definition for the word 'computing'. One of such operating systems is the new Windows 8 by Microsoft.

Discussion

Windows 8 is the final name for the latest version of Microsoft's operating system: the Windows NT 6.2. This operating system comes in four different editions: Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, Windows 8 Enterprise and RT Windows, which is the version running on the device processor 'ARM' (for tablets, smartphones etc). On this occasion, Microsoft gave a lecture in New York at the Times Square, emerging in an entirely new image. On the same famous square in New York, the company also opened its first store, known as: Microsoft Store. Several similar shops opened their doors at the same time everywhere in North America and similar shops shall be launched in Europe by 2013 (Variava, 2012).

What is currently happening in the market?

Windows 8 has caused a lot of stir in the markets because of its amazing interface and completely fresh approach to home computing (Variava, 2012). Possibly, another reason why people gladly adopted this operating system in spite of the fact that it is completely different from the previous versions is because similar operating systems have been seen and used by people in cellular devices known as Windows Phones (HTC HD7 etc.). The current sales of Windows 8 is very satisfactory and just three days after the launch, 4 million licenses had been passed and a month later this figure was multiplied by 10, which is more than the sales ...
