Introduction

The Ancient Chinese were a very clever civilization who was capable of utilizing the materials they had available to make tools that they found useful. However, they have been the pioneers of many valuable inventions. Thus, we can say that their people tend to be called very smart. As with any civilization, as time went by the skills and materials improved, this improved the quality and (type of) tools available. However, there are diverse creations that the Chinese are better known. Therefore, I've highlighted notable inventions, which eventually spread throughout the whole world. While China might currently be exporting huge quantities or products, it was once exporting very valuable information, which the rest of the world would have lost without.

Among the many inventions that Chinese comprehend their skills some got listed. The creations include; Abacus, Chinese handwriting, coal & iron refining, gunpowder, magnetic compass, paper money, spinning wheel, the Mechanical Clock, smallpox inoculation, canals & locks, The Great Wall of China, and various other things (Williams, 1997). However, in this paper, I will be emphasizing upon the four major inventions of China called the Four Great Inventions. These four inventions are the Chinese inventions of gunpowder, papermaking, printing, and compass.
