Introduction

Every successful project and concept in life needs a proper effective framework and planning. This relates to all processes that also include education as education is the foundation of values ??and attitudes and plays an important role in development of thought and creativity. Whenever we embark on any new procedure or plan, we are required to ensure that we all have the plans drawn up. What are the resources we have, what is on the offer, what are the goals that we need to achieve, and what are the steps which need to be taken (Kramer, 1990). These are some of the important elements that need to be looked upon. Similarly, there are some constraints applied to education in colleges as schools, these set of constraint gives birth to curriculum. A curriculum can be defined as set of courses that includes its content offered at university or school. Often, a curriculum contains a detailed subject list and list of elements for teachers on the way to teach them.

According to Franklin Bobbitt, the curriculum is course of experiences and deeds through which children grow up into adults and are prepared to attain success in the society. an effective curriculum not only out in together a set of academically required subjects but it also cover all aspects of a student's life, their learning needs, ideas of teachers, workload, capacity, and time available for sessions. Development of curriculum is important because it has huge impact on the learning and development of students. The main purpose of development of curriculum is to make sure that students receive coherent and integrated learning experiences that contribute towards their academic, personal, and professional learning and development.

A curriculum needs to be effective expression of understanding and knowledge that we believe is importantly required by our future generation to become successful. Curriculum development reform directs what needs to be done in order to effectively implement curriculum into practice (Snipes, 2004). Politicians get involved in expressing the skills and values that society wants out schools and universities to teach. This paper will review specific curriculum reform initiative KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) then this reform shall be connected with Common Core Curriculum Standards and performance assessment of New Jersey. In the end of this review we will demonstrate knowledge on leadership standards by connecting the curriculum reform initiative to effective leadership in urban school settings.
