Preparing curriculums for learners is a tough job that can only be performed by people with some experience in the field of education. The first step in developing a curriculum is to assess the needs of the target group. This is done with through observations, analysis of their past reports, interviews, and tests. Once the needs of the learners are known, the curriculum can be designed by incorporating courses that could help in fulfilling the needs of the learners. After the curriculum is used, assessments need to be carried out in order to determine the extent to which the needs of the students are fulfilled. This is conducted during the course as well as at the end. In order to assist instructors, institutes provide assessment instruments that are effective and tested (Starr & Krajcik, 2010, 987-1000).
