Introduction

Developing a quality curriculum is essential for every school because if it has been conceptualized and implemented in an effective manner, it can directly affect the overall importance of learning and teaching. Therefore, the district curricula have been considered as the business of school principles (Wiles, 2009). Every school has its own authority over designing and developing the Quality curriculum with following a systematic common process. This study is constructed for developing the quality curriculum of course Mathematics for Grade four students. The core purpose of this research study is improving the learning in order to overcome the consistent grades declining of students. This is only possible when the Curriculum of the elementary school has been revised and implements the designed policies in this study.

As an educational leader it is quite disappointing for one to see that grades between 2 to 5 results for the standardized test have been declining. In order to improve learning one needs to employ various methods. I have chosen to develop a Program of Study for grade 4 and I have selected the subject Math.

Discussion

For developing the Quality curriculum the superintendents of the school is responsible for designing the policies and suggest where those policies should be implemented (Blatchford, 1998). However, principles are responsible for improvement of ideas which are being overlooked by the superintendents. For developing this curriculum, it has been necessary to set a vision for this curriculum development and set defined goals. This would make it easier for policies are then designed on following the key objectives of the curriculum development goals.

One needs to develop the Districts educational goal if they want a favorable outcome. There are many processes one needs to go through that they can bring the positive change within the performance. They need to develop goals, visions which will unite the faculty along with providing them with a sense of direction and instructions. There are significant functions needed to design this quality curriculum which involve following steps.

District Functions

I would firstly manage by making the district curricula incorporated in my school. If the district curricula is effectively conceptualized and followed the teaching along with the learning it will significantly improve. The overall district is mainly responsible for the finding out the effectiveness of the programmed instructions designed at the district, school and the lower levels of class rooms. The process of evaluation is mainly focused on determining that to what extent students are meeting and maintaining their defined goals in a particular learning opportunity (Lund & Tannehill, 2010). It also determines and evaluates the extent to which the teachers are showing the effectiveness of the curriculum inside the class rooms.

The main policies are focused over the process of evaluation for determining the resulted effectiveness of the implemented policies in the classrooms.
