ABSTRACT

This research explains the concept of ergonomics in detail. Furthermore, it also highlights the importance of ergonomically designed products. The main aim of this research is to place an argument that in spite of so much of importance of ergonomically designed products, customers prefer aesthetically designed products. For this, the study identifies some factors affecting this behaviour, the preference level of customers, what they prefer and how they prefer, through survey and interviews. Furthermore, the research identifies the impact of ergonomically designed products on the performance of the product and how designers psychologically affect the customer's preference of purchase.

Title

Do ergonomically designed products make for good interior design?

Rationale

The subject of this proposal developed from a person interest and curiosity in the relationship between the rule of ergonomics and how it can persuade designers choice of product and the decision they make that may or may not influence their design. The concept behind this was triggered by the amount of merchandise in the market which focuses more on the aesthetics of the products than the function to attract their customers for better income. This may seems like a one sided argument but there must some sort of explanation that clarify the current situation. Both sides may argue that those who actually designs product based on the rules and requirements of the science of ergonomics impact, if any, towards customers who bases their decision on the aesthetics of the ...
