Research on Securing Information within National Health Service

Introduction

National Health Service (NHS) was introduced in the year 1948 and is considered to be the greatest achievements of Atlee's Labour government. The core purpose for the formation of National Health Service is to facilitate those poor people who cannot afford heavy medical expenses and therefore they are provided free medical facilities under the system of NHS. Later system provided by National Health Service provided medical facilities to more than 20 million people while the remaining people where not covered under this system because of which they had to pay themselves for their medical treatments. After the formation of NHS, many doctors and medical practitioners stood against NHS as they thought that by the formation of NHS they would not be able to generate money for themselves along their professional freedom being jeopardized that is they would only be treating few private patients that would result in financial problems for these doctors.

After the formation of NHS, the system proved to be popular as most of the doctors thought of this system to be the best decision in the interest of common people. Around more than 90% of the medical practitioners joined the system of National Health Services. From the beginning of formation of NHS, they faced some financial constraints because of undervalued prediction of the amount that would be utilized within a year by the introduction of this system. The government estimated that the cost of National Health Service will cost around 140 million by the end of the year 1950 but in actual, it cost more than 350 million that was more than double of the amount (cost) predicted.
