Today all organizations, whether large or small are occupied in a cutthroat business environment. Organizations are competing aggressively with each other. Therefore, every organization requires the accurate kind of leadership to endure (Francis, 2009). Organizations with competent leaders have a tendency to innovate, react to transformations in markets and surroundings, ingeniously attend to challenges, and maintain outstanding performance. Leadership can be seen in terms of personal qualities, leader conduct, communication ways, role associations, disciple opinions, control over disciples, authority on job targets, and impact on organizational customs and culture (Francis, 2009).

Leaders lay down a way for the rest of the people. They facilitate people discern what is ahead of them; they assist people envision what they might accomplish; they persuade and motivate people. With no leadership, any group or team quickly disintegrates into disagreements and quarrels, because people perceive things in diverse manners and incline toward contradictory results (Mills, 2005). Leadership facilitates to point everyone on the similar track and tie the team's endeavors together. The lack of leadership is in the same way striking in its outcomes. Devoid of leadership, an organization progresses at a snail's pace languishes and eventually lose their way (Mills, 2005).

Leadership has more and more turn out to be the center of consideration of management literature and managerial learning in present time, shoving management into its shade. Everyone, it appears, wishes to be a leader instead of a manager (Western, 2008).

What is leadership?

Leadership can be described as the process of persuading others to be aware of and concur about what requires to be accomplished and how to achieve it, and the process of assisting individual and combined endeavors to achieve shared goals (Rowe & Guerrero, 2011). Leadership can also be defined as a process in which an individual persuades a group of people to attain a shared objective (Rowe & Guerrero, 2011).
