Introduction

Sonia flew is a novel that is based on a main character called Sonia. The character is said to tackle two phases of Sonia's life. One phase entails the time when Sonia was a child and it was her fifteenth birthday. The second phase of life that is depicted is the time when Sonia is in her fifties and she has 2 children Jen and Zak who are school going. The premise behind highlighting the two phases of life is the fact that both the phases of life Sonia is said to face opposition. The time when she was a child she was stopped from being a participant in a teaching program in Cuba. The phase of life where she was married she had to face opposition from her son Zak's side. In both he situations the important part that has been played in terms of stirring the direction of the decision was the fathers. At an initial phase it was Sonia's father Orfeo and in the latter stage it was Sonia's husband Daniel (www.encoremichigan.com).

Fathers of both the era, although differing in personalities and lifestyles, are much alike.

Discussion

Fathers of both the era, although differing in personalities and lifestyles, are much alike. Orfeo is a father constituting traits linked to disciplinarian, conservative, powerful patriarch and traditional at the same time. He was a school teacher by profession where as Daniel who is Sonia's husband and Zak's father was someone who was liberal, broad minded and at the same time had modernism in him. Daniel was a psychologist by profession.
