Introduction

The goal of communication is to make everyone aware of what individuals want to achieve, their purposes, goals and their standard of ethical behavior. This results in the development of a common approach that everyone can follow. Thus, this paper seeks to measure the ethical environment in communication, provide the importance of ethical communication, determine the effect of diversity on communication, understand the principles of communication and culture and evaluate the influence of gender on communication.

Role of Ethics in Communication

Ethics is one of the most important component of a society because it is related to the theory of being, theory of knowledge, theory of value, the study of human existential practice. In determining the meaning of life, ethics has to reach several issues, including human existence as a person. Ethics is a normative science that determines the individual's behavior in specific cases. Its main focus is in the potential of the world being good. Similarly, communication is the lifeblood of the world without which the things we see today may not have been developed. linking ethics and communication is the key to survival in todays worls (L'Etang, 2011, 183-184).

Ethics plays one of the most important role in the communication process because every individual needs to understand the values of of others while communicating with them. If communication is not relevant, it can hurt the feeling of people of other cultures because things that may be acceptable to one culture may not be acceptable to others. For example, speaking loud may be acceptable in western culture but when it comes to eastern culture, some cultures may not tolerate such level of speech.
