A Response to Joyce Carol Oates' “The Cousins”

Joyce Carol Oates first published book, With Shuddering Fall, was published in 1968, at age 26. Later on in her life she lived in lots of dissimilar cities, taught at the University of Detroit, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and Princeton.

In 1974, she and her husband founded The Ontario Review, a legendary magazine, where Oates worked as associate editor. Then in 1980s, they opened Ontario Review Books, an independent publishing house. Oates wrote over one hundred books plus received lots of awards plus honors.
