Introduction

Abortion is the interruption of pregnancy. During a therapeutic abortion, the embryo can be removed or expelled from the uterus, according to the method chosen. There are two types of therapeutic abortion: medical abortion and surgical abortion. During a medical abortion, the pregnancy is interrupted with drugs instead of surgery.
