Introduction

Abraham Lincoln's is associated with the Civil War and the abolition of slavery. He was assassinated as a result of a conspiracy from supporters Confederates at the beginning of his second term (Christopher, 2005). According to Lincoln one must continue to learn. Learning enables an individual to develop the quest of searching new ways to do different things and tasks which ultimately leads an individual towards the pathways of innovativeness and creativity. Lincoln was of the notion that one should always welcome suggestions, feedbacks and new ideas by others. incoln adhered to strict moral principles of morality, a sense of humour, but was prone to severe melancholia. To this day, Abraham Lincoln is considered one of the most intelligent presidents of the United States.

When the Civil War broke out he held the country together at all costs. During the war, trying to save the Union tested his leadership abilities. He worked constantly, eighteen hours a day that left little time for other aspects of his life. His biggest and most important goal in his presidency was to preserve the Union that he led so completely and greatly (Crowther, 2000). Lincoln wrote the proclamation emancipating the slaves and signs the 13th Amendment abolishing the slave. In his inaugural address at the beginning of his second term, he was conciliatory towards the states of the former Confederacy and launched a reconstruction program that does not live the day due to his assassination by John Wilkes Booth, a supporter Southern (Shorto, 1991).

This paper discusses Lincoln the artist, the maker of a style that is unique in English prose and doubly astonishing in the history of American literature, for nothing led up to it. The Lincoln who speaks to his audience through the written word is a figure no longer to be described wholly or mainly by the old adjectives, shrewd, humorous or saintly, but rather as one combining the traits that biography reports in certain artists among the greatest—passionate, gloomy, seeming-cold, and conscious of superiority.

Background

One of his greatest achievements was the implementation of the Emancipation Proclamation, which ended the cruel practice of slavery in the country. Although it took effect immediately after he conceived it, the Proclamation helped the process greatly (Guelzo, 2004). Unfortunately, Lincoln was assassinated before the promulgation on 13 could be converted into cash.

President Lincoln signed the Homestead Act, which allowed the poorest people in the east to reach the land in the western part of the country. The Morrill Act was passed to ensure that each state had a school of agriculture and ...
