Introduction

Human mind is very sensitive and always responds to the changes in the environment around him. The primary affect of any such change is on the psychology of the human mind. This is the reason that affects most of the society. The worst effects are due to the negative social behaviors and this result in most of the psychological problems. The growing concern for the study of the school psychology deals with different aspects. This diverts my attention and develops the interest for the admission in the field of psychology.

Why do you want to become a school psychologist?

Children are the precious assets for the society and nation. Future of a nation depends on the productivity and performance of these children. If this productivity is marred on the basis of any social and racial discrimination at the school level, then it will be an irreparable loss for that nation. This is the reason which filled me with the spirit of safeguarding the future of these children and to protect their rich and healthy minds to be destroyed by the negative and destructive thoughts or in some cases it can result in the social hatred. I was born and raised in a mono-cultural society of Pakistan where there is no racial, ethnical or cultural discriminations. When I migrated to the multicultural society of America my family and especially my daughter faced these problems of discriminations. It was considered as a very common issue, but when I noticed that my daughter is facing trouble with the derision -based experiences by teachers and peers. Along with the educational and psychological studies, and the problems associated with my own daughter, helps me in understanding the pain and low self esteem of these students. This is the reason that I have decided to become a school psychologist to assist these students academically, socially and emotionally.

Why are you interested in the Ohio State University School Psychology Program?

Ohio State University School Psychology Program offers educational program based on the socio-cultural theories of psychological and educational practices with youth. It is based on the work of Lev Vygotsky who provided that it is the responsibility of the parents, caregivers, and culture to develop the child's life. This helps to understand the problems of the behavior and performance of the students' affected with this discrimination.

Describe your experiences with children?

Throughout my studies I worked with children and during my experiences I felt that in most of the cases children do not share their problems with the elders. They face more social neglect and hatred then the adults. This sabotaged the personality of the children and result in anti social and criminal activities or in psychological complication in most of the cases.
