Introduction

Most companies are indulging in the age bias, either during recruitment or promotion. The applications of older candidates rarely get a positive response. In addition, the company seems to limit the growth prospects of older employees. The reasons for this kind of age discrimination are endless. Some companies believe that the older age group of experts is not technically savvy, and therefore will not be able to move in step with the progressive methods of work. Some link the number of chronological years, with complacency and conservatism, in contrast to the energy and radical way of thinking about youth. In addition, older candidate, it is harder to pay for a package that is not a real alternative for many organizations due to the current economy. In cases where one is a victim of age discrimination in professional organizations, to act cautiously, as it is very difficult to prove an employer guilty. First, it is always better to solve issues within the company without going to court .The victim should consider age discrimination with the older establishment. If this is not helpful, then help can be obtained from the state or city agency fair employment practices.

Age discrimination illustrates a situation where an employee or applicant is considered a lesser way, solely because of age bias. Increasing the number of cases of age discrimination has led federal and state governments to enforce laws to protect the rights of older professionals. Age Discrimination in Employment Act or ADEA is one of these legal instruments, which protects individuals 40 years and beyond its borders against any discrimination on the basis of their professional institutions age.
