Abstract

The aggression and violence among gangs have become the most visible form of the destruction in every society. It has become a normal act around the world. The increased proliferation of gangs has contributed a lot in fueling up the public's fear. Gang violence has profound impact not only over the victims but also the people who are connected to them such as friends, family, and community. The cost of such violent acts does not only result in deaths and disabilities but it has adequately affected the overall quality of life of the societies. There are so many organizations have been formed In order to address this escalating issue about gangs' violence and aggression. These organizations ensure the proper eradication and reduction of these violent gangs from the society through various programs and ensure the better quality of life.

Introduction

The gang violence has become a global phenomenon that has become a burning issue in almost all or the countries of the world. A gang can be defined as the group of young people between 10 to 25 years old involved in the criminal or violent activities. The entire world is entangled into this issue of violence among gangs which has affected a society in number of ways such as it has led the society towards poor quality of life, prevailing fear in public, reduced productivity and undermined the entire fabrication of the society. According to Howell, the people join gangs in order to get protection, respect, power, and money. Young people are found to be involved in this delinquent activity (2010). Synder and Sickmund (2006) have reported that nearly 8 percent of the youth that are around 12 to 17 years are involved in this delinquency and violence.

The aggression has found to be the primary reason behind involving in the delinquent conducts of the young people. Aggression is the behavior in which a person is intentionally involved in providing the harm to the other person whether through harsh words, inappropriate behavior or through the violence. The violence may also highlight the act of giving severe harm to the opponent in order to achieve personal goals. It can also result in the death.

Problem statement

The gang violence in the nations has become widespread. The problem of this study is to analyze the violence among gangs and how they are contributed in the society and the cost of this delinquency over the society.

Purpose

The primary purpose of this research is to examine the gang violence and the preventive programs that may help in eradication of this gang delinquency, aggression, and violence. The reason behind conducting this research is to ensure the quality of life and a fear free society.

Discussion
