Introduction

This paper intends to explore the elements in an advertisement regarding how men and women are portrayed. For this purpose the advertisement chosen for examining is J'adore Perfume by Dior. This study shall identify the underlying message about femininity or masculinity put forth by the advertisement.

Discussion

The aromas are the most abstract of the feelings and explain touches of wood, neroli and other weird things would not be the best way to sell the product, so why not abstract the sense of smell and restructure it into a visual concept that although fully surreal, reflecting the feeling of aroma.

A visual fantasy that complements intentions through model and product but both convey what is intended with the artistic part of the alchemy of scents. Thus modern cosmopolitan scent is a good platform for a commercial urban (Thunder, Perfect Mind) and something sumptuous, luxurious and full of "bubble" is the basis for an ad like that of J'adore by Dior.
