Introduction

Apple Inc. which was formerly known as Apple Computer, Inc., is corporation that is American multinational based and first headquartered in California, Cupertino that develops, designs, and then sells electronics for consumers, personal computers, and computer software. It is well known for its hardware products which are the Mac line series of the computers, the iPhone, the iPad, and the iPod. Its software are comprised of the Ios (Operating Sytems), and the OS X, the Safari web browser, the iTunes media browser, and the iWork and iLife production and creativity suites. The company was first established on April 1st, 1976. The word of 'Computer' was separated from its name in the start of 2007 by reflecting its focus towards the electronics for consumers after the prologue of the iPhone.

In this assignment, three parts would be discussed in detail such are as follows:

'Analyse' and 'Evaluate' the business strategy that Apple Inc. has pursued using either Bowman's strategic clock or Porter's Generic Strategies framework.

There is an analysis and evaluation of the business strategies that has been pursued by the framework of Porter's Generic Strategies. With orientation to the competition and dynamics faced in the industry of technology, there has been a requirement for the companies to exhibit efficiency in the business operations (Boddie, 2005, p. 1). In the case of Apple Inc., it has not been excused, as it has some extensive business strategies that lead its overall operations. The business level strategies of Apple Inc. have been focused towards the enhancement of performance (Rafter, 2002, p. 10).

The strategy of Cost leadership has been strongly pursued by Apple Inc in its efforts of ensuring competitiveness as well as success. Some of the key strategies pursued by the company for effective execution of cost leadership strategy are the reduction of operating costs, minimizing distribution costs, lowering input costs, and tightening labour costs.
