Introduction

Organizations in their pursuit of excellence strive to become better and innovative in order to deal with the future challenges. Market competition, technology, global changes, innovation, customer preferences are all external factors that drive organizations to change their current state. If organization wants to be successful and compete with other organizations in the market, they continuously need to change the way they function and operate. This can involve improvement through training of employees, introducing new technology, improvement in their product or any other thing pertaining to their industry.

Training Need Analysis

Training need analysis helps organizations to study its current condition and state and identify if they need improvement or change. Organization can always strive to become better in future by changing the way it works. It can improve its work processes, skills of employees and other working methods through various training methods. Training need analysis is the very first step toward improvement and betterment. It basic purpose of conduction is to eliminate the gap between the current situation and the desired state. In certain situations, training is not the solution to the problem and can be resolved through other short term remedies. Therefore, it is very important to conduct the training need analysis to identify the nature of the problem, and whether it will resolve through different training methods or not. It is very important for the successful implementation of training programs that it must reinforce the mission of the organization. The desired state of organization must be compatible with it missions and objectives (Brown, 2002).

The Disney Training Institute

The Disney Training Institute is a part of Walt Disney that focuses on training organizations by following Walt Disney methodology, ideology and culture as a role model. Its mission statement is to make people think in a different manner in relation to their organization issues and problems. They propose solutions to teach people to look at their organization issues in a simplified manner. By doing so, things will become clearer and people of the organization will be able to see the solution which was in front of them, but they were not able to see it. Now that we know the mission of the company, it will be easier, to conduct training need analysis so that it brings results that are compatible with organization overall mission.

The Disney institute being a part of Walt Disney believes in continuous improvement and innovation of processes and people. The company encourages businesses to Dream, Believe, Dare and Do. They train people in such a manner that they are able to do the following (Prezi Inc., 2012):

Dream about the better future of their organization, meeting challenges, improve or innovate. People are encouraged to come up with different ideas and proposals to improve the current state or resolve existing problem of the organization.
