Introduction

The management structure is a set of management levels, which is interrelated and there is co-ordination of the operation and development of the organization as a whole. To achieve these goals and objectives of the manager must create an organizational structure (organizational management system) of the enterprise (Butler, 2006, 39). In the most general sense of the term structure of the system is a collection of links and relationships between its elements. In turn, the organizational management system is a collection of units and job-related attitudes and subordination. When creating a management structure manager should take into account the specific features of the enterprise and its interaction with the environment as much as possible (Heckscher, 2004, 9). The organizational model is the principles of formation units, delegation of authority and vesting responsibility. In fact, the organizational model shows how to create division. There are four types of structures, and none of them is transferred from one firm to another.

Functional model of "one unit = one function";

Process model of "one unit = one process";

Matrix model, "a process or a project = team from different functional departments";

Model-oriented counterpart, "one unit = one counterparty (the client or client group, supplier, contractor, etc.);

The purpose of this paper is to deal with hierarchical organizational structure of an Advertising company names as Aquarius who structure is not good enough to meet the requirements of current market. In this paper, we shall be doing situational analysis with problem statement and after identifying the problem alternatives and recommendations will be discussed. In this paper, we are going to discuss Functional model, which has one unit and one function this is the type of structure followed by the Aquarius Advertising Company.

Background

Being in an advertising agency, Aquarius has unstable environment. Likes and dislikes of consumers are changing rapidly; thus it is very necessary to provide a dynamic and changing environment. Aquarius is a midsized company and goals of management are adaptations to external events. The existing technology using independence model of Thompson can be considered as Reciprocal (mutual adjustment, daily interaction, and lots of communication) or non routine (low analyzability and high variety) by using Perrow's model. Aquarius Agency's environment is somewhat aggressive because Account executives are being bypassed by specialists of other agencies. The reason behind hiring Account Executive is to supervise that what is expected by consumers or clients out of their advertising agencies. Since the executives are bypassed by specialists, they have no idea about the account given to them for managing. If, this type of activity continues, Aquarius might lose Account Executive and operate without them which will be biggest disadvantage to the agency because Aquarius environment will get weak and unstable (Duncan, 2009, 45). With this type of problem, the goal of the agency which is to serve the idea of their client as a whole wouldn't be achieved.
