Aristotle defines tragedy as: Tragedy is a symbol of a crucial, entire activity which has magnitude, in embellished talk, with each of its components utilized individually in the diverse components of the play; comprised by persons portraying and not by narration; accomplishing via shame and terror the catharsis of such emotions.
