Introduction

This essay attempts the study of Ibn-e-Sina known with the Latin name Avicenna. His period is from 981-1037 C.E. He was a real product of the Muslim civilization. His contribution is mainly in the natural sciences which are known as 'Attabieyat' with his companions. He showed his work in his book named 'Kitab Al-Shifa' which is the famous encyclopedia of philosophy; it also involves the study of Natural Sciences which has left a great influence on European scientist. He has more command in the field of medicine and Philosophy, thus he lacks in the field of Earth Sciences. He was of that period when learning was much considered and practiced. Avicenna belongs to the fourth century of Islamic era. The work he did is still considered as the most legitimate work and gives a wide knowledge on the subject on which he did his studies. His work depicts his interest in the subject.

This the most abundant era in which learning and knowledge was at its peak. It was the time when scholars of Islam were speeded everywhere and vast expansion of libraries were also filled up with the scholarly books of those Islamic scholars and during this time Arab's culture has reached to its peak. As Arabic language was the tool to spread the knowledge in that era. He not only studies Arabic but also did his masters in it. After getting a command over the study of Qur'an he also got great knowledge over literature. Later he studied geometry, philosophy and Mathematics. He has been sent to a teacher by his father and there he learned all the other related studies and became scholar of many studies (O'Connor & Robertson, 1999).
