Introduction

As the world is advancing towards progression, however, this progression does have a cost attached to it. However, the fact needs to be kept in mind that behind the rapid progression of the world, the fuel tends to act as a backbone. The effects of the fuel tends to be detrimental and far reaching, moreover its consequences does not remain limited to the areas of its application but tends to expand towards the whole wide world. However, bearing the consequences of this rapid industrial development in the form of global warming through the course of green house effect. The world is now coming to grip with the adoption of the alternative fuels in order to reduce its far reaching consequences. Over the past few decades the need to develop alternatives to finite fossil fuel resources have resulted in the development of fuel technologies focused on the production of biodegradable, renewable and non toxic fuel (Bondioli 2004, p. 78).

Before moving further in the context of the paper the fact needs to be kept in mind that bio-fuels are fuels of biological origin obtained renewably from organic waste. These organic remains usually come from sugar, wheat, maize or oilseeds. All reduce the total volume of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere because they absorb as they grow and emit almost the same as conventional fuels when burned, so it is a closed loop process. Bio-fuels are often mixed with other fuels in small proportions, 5 or 10%, providing a useful but limited reduction of greenhouse gases.

In Europe and America, has introduced legislation requiring providers to mix bio-fuels to specific levels. This legislation has been copied later by many other countries who believe that these fuels will help to improve the planet by reducing gases that produce the so-called 'greenhouse effect'. Many experts in this regard tend to consider Bio-diesel as an environmentally friendly fuel. Biodiesel is a cleaner alternative fuel with combustion properties very similar to petroleum diesel, most often used as an additive to improve the lubricity of pure ultra low sulphur petrol diesel fuel. Comparatively, it lowers the tailpipe emissions and is one of the most realistic candidates to replace the fossil fuels. It is a fuel comprised of mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from biologically produced oils or fats including vegetable oils, animal fats. Thus, in the context of the paper we intend to shed light on the possible effects of the biofuel in order to cater to any thoughts related to environmental issues (Brakora, et al, 2008, p. 680). It would be done through different perspectives in order to develop an effective and efficient understanding of the subject.

Discussion

Bio-fuels, in comparison with other fuels, are an environmentally friendly fuel. Solid bio-fuels are cheaper than electricity, diesel or coal.
