The book “Stony the Road We Trod” is written by Cain Hope Felder. It is basically a collection of 11 essays. These essays present a collection of historical events of the African American culture. It was written in order to compare the euro western hegemony in biblical essays which helped in countering the African and American essays. The purpose of this book was to get an idea about the racial discrimination due to bible own universalism. The book has four basic parts. All parts show different contexts but all are related to each other. The book has a wonderful flow and the reader enjoys it a lot. The first part shows the practical phase of the book. The writer has portrayed that the African American women were discriminated on basis of sex and ethnicity. The writer has given the concept in this book that cultures differences are the part of euro western culture. In the other sections of the book, the writer has given various viewpoints about the American African culture and its traditions. The main idea of the books is to discuss the racial discrimination hidden between the lines. All four sections are very interesting and provide an in-depth study about the subject matter of the book. This book is a big step in order to understand the euro western domination which is a hurdle for oppressed people of euro western.
