Buffalo Wild Wings

Introduction

Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar was started in 1982. Its owners were Jim Disbrow and Scott Lowery. The Ohio State University campus situated in US was there first outlet and as a partnership under the name, Buffalo Wild Wings & Weck. Their modest goal at that time was to provide the university campus with tastiest Buffalo, New York-style chicken wings dipped in a signature buffalo sauce (Analyzing SWOT, 2000). Although their menu has grown to a large extent and they are now offering a complete menu of everything from salads, appetizers to burgers and other special items, their signature offerings are still those Buffalo, New York-style chicken wings but that one signature sauce has grown to twelve different tastiest sauces. Their concept has also changed from a National restaurant chain with almost 300 company owned and also franchised restaurants in 32 states. As a result of their continued improvements, for the fiscal year 2003, Buffalo Wild Wing's had 5,450 employees which generated over $130 million in total revenues that year. In 2009, it had 652 locations out of which 232 franchises are directly owned by the company, and 420 are franchised locations across 45 U.S. states today. In 2010, the company announced to open its franchise into Canada. In February, this year 2012 Buffalo Wild Wings has reported $495.6 million in total assets which is an increase of 30.35% year over year. Its stock prices are increased by 61.33% over the same time period. On 8th of February, 2012, the stock prices closed at $82.19 reached an all time high record and recently it has reached $87.89 (Buffalo Wild Wings Annual report, 2011).
