Phase I - Preparing for Change

The business process change will start with Apple defining its change management strategy. As discussed in Unit # 3, the change to be brought is a difference in pricing strategy of Apple.

A change management team will be prepared to bring about the desired change. The marketing team will coordinate with the operations department to get an idea about expediting the process in a way that can reduce the production cost for iPod. This reduction in cost will be passed down to the end consumer after checking the viability of this price reduction strategy from the finance department.

The last step in this phase will be to highlight the opportunities that the new change entails. This can be in the form of market development and market expansion.

Phase II - Managing Change

Change management plans will be developed in this stage. The production team responsible for bringing about the desired change will see if changes in design can bring down the cost.

After identification of the desired business process change, it is the responsibility of the change management team to implement it. The implementation can be done in phases for better monitoring and evaluation at each step of the way.

Phase III - Reinforcing Change

This is where Apple will garner feedback from its internal stakeholders regarding the change that was implemented. The feedback will then be analyzed.

The possible gaps that were left in the implementation of change will be highlighted and removed. Any resistance to change or status quo will be dealt with in this phase.

The corrected actions are implemented and success of Apple in terms of increased market share will be celebrated.
