Introduction

There are many different environmental problems facing the world today, we discussed many of these issues in our Introduction to Environmental Sciences and Policy class. All the environmental problems are of different sort of way, although many of them have common factors. For the most part of the environmental issues that we discussed are related to environmental degradation.

We discussed various issues during the semester. These issues vary from minor problems that can be changed through community participation in the larger issues that affect the entire world. Decisions made on these issues as diverse in many ways.

Discussion

I think that most environmental problems are not all black and white. There is not just one correct solution. The fact is that some people see some of the proposed solutions like a good course of action, while others do not. There are also people who do not see issues as problems at all. This can occur for many reasons. Most people do not see how the problem affects them that they are unwilling to pay extra money to help. Money, or people want money, I think it is a factor that plays a role in almost all environmental problems that we discussed. Although it is impossible to achieve, most environmental problems would not exist in such extreme cases, if we had an infinite amount of money to fight them.

Another factor is that people do not want to do the work for a solution. In most environmental issues that they do not have a clear decision, people will not waste your time trying all the solutions, if they do not see that the best solution for the problem.

People do not want to buy the more expensive fluorescent light bulbs over the cheaper regular light bulbs. People and spray DDT, instead of more expensive environmentally friendly spray that will need to spray more often. All high level radioactive waste is very expensive to move, especially when trying to find a way to get liquid from one place to another. People think that drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge would help the United States financially, offering us the oil, and various jobs across the country, so do not see the effects of drilling so bad. From the environmental racism of people offered jobs and affordable place to live, some of these people their worth more than being in an environmentally safe place. People who live in communities that want to plant, so they have a job, it's usually people who do not even live in the area who are trying to get them not to build. Genetically engineered crops may not be as safe as regular crop production, but it's cheaper to grow them, and hence the supply of cultures is going up, it probably seems like a good option for developing countries.

The book explains all the issues that we discussed in a format so no. The question presented to a person who believes that it is a ...
