Introduction

Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is the declaration of Rights, which forms the first part of the Constitutional Act of 1982. Its purpose is to protect the rights of Canadian citizens from anti-social acts, policies, laws, federal and provincial governments and the unification of Canadians around a core of values that embody those rights. Charter was preceded by a Canadian Declaration of Human Rights , introduced by the government of John Diefenbaker in 1960 , the Meanwhile, the Declaration of Rights was probably only a federal law, not constitutional document, and therefore had more limited power and were easily corrected. In addition, as a federal law it could not be used in basic and ordinary provincial laws. These deficiencies induce some members of the government to do to improve the protection of human like the international movement in defense of human rights and freedoms, after the Second World War has presented the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Charter entered into force by Act 1982 of Canada, adopted by the British Parliament in the reign of Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau in 1982. Numerous people feel that the Carter of Rights and Freedom making the Canadian society become more like the American society.
