Cancer

Introduction

Cancer is a disease characterized by cell proliferation unusually large in a normal tissue to the body, so that the latter's survival is threatened. These cells are all derived from a single clone, initiator of cancer cell that has acquired certain characteristics enabling it to divide indefinitely. During the course of the disease, some cells may migrate from their place of production and form metastases. For these two reasons, cancer screening should be as early as possible.

Thesis Statement

Cancer used to be a rare disease that affected only a small percentage of people in the last century. Around the turn of the century, only a few people died of cancer. However, these days, cancer is so widespread that almost everyone has a relative who suffers from cancer. Today, cancer is no more an exception; instead it has become a norm.

Discussion

In principle, every organ of the human body is affected by cancer. However, there are significant differences in incidence by age, gender, collective affiliation, geographic region, dietary habits, and similar factors. Cancer has become the second leading cause of death now. Nevertheless, not every cancer is deadly course, if a timely therapy is started or a slow-growing cancer occurs only in such advanced age, the patient dies of other causes of death. The current study from the Society of Epidemiological Cancer Registries published in 2010, relative 5-year survival rates of all cancers which are related to the data as of 2006 (Kleinsmith, 2006).

For women, the figure was 61% or 62% and between 54% and 57% for men (a total of approximately 58.5%). In other countries, comparative figures are more favorable. From Finland, for example, a survival rate of 67% for women and 61% for men at the moment is around 64%. As healed in oncology one patient noted, without at least five years relapse (recurrence survived). This definition of cure is problematic because many relapses take place until a later date. It therefore, flow into the cancer patient success statistics that die later of cancer. However, approaches for most types of cancer recurrence after surviving five years, the average life expectancy of those of their peers.

A cancer manifests itself in various forms and diseases. For this reason, any general statements regarding life expectancy and chances of recovery are taken. There are currently about 100 different types of cancer which are known to be in survival, treatment options and the tendency to form metastases partially differ greatly (Mukherjee, 2010).

The incidence of most cancers increases with age to clear, so you can also look at cancer as a disease of old age of cell growth. In addition, these are smoking; other carcinogenic pollutants, family planning (assessment) and viral infections are the main causes of cancer. There are more than 20 percent of all cancers in infections back (human papillomavirus (HPV), hepatitis B and C, Helicobacter pylori, EBV, human herpes virus 8 (HHV-8), Human T-lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1), certain parasites (Bladder cancer in the Nile Delta) and Merkel cell ...
