Candidiasis

Introduction

It is a fungal infection originates by a parasitic yeast fungus called Candida albicans. This fungus is usually found in parts of the body such as the throat, mouth, and the genital and intestinal tracts.

Etiology of the Candidiasis

Candidal infections usually occur in warm moist parts of the body, such as skin folds, underarms, buttocks, and genitals. Normally our skin protects us from the yeast but any wound, cut in the skin may expose this organism to penetrate. (Weil, Pp. 12-20)
