Introduction

In the current world, the crime exists everywhere, may it be the neighbouring states or the neighbourhood- the crime and the criminals can be found at all places. This makes a vital duty upon us that the people living in the community work for the elimination of crime instead of ignoring it. There are some criminals who commit the crime due to the fact that they have no other alternative to continue their survival, while others do it for their own entertainment and fun.

The world today is facing a strong wave of crimes and other issues that create havoc and disaster for everyone living on the earth. Various heinous crimes like murder, honour killing, and other such brutal acts have reached their climax hence proving the lives of people as worthless and of no value. In such an era, capital punishment remains as the only tool to bring justice and fairness to the system of management and administration (Marzilli, 2008). This paper discusses and presents a critical view over the fact that capital punishments should be brought back in order to tackle particular offences that are on their zenith in the current world.

The concept of death penalty or the capital punishment pertains to lawful procedure according to which an individual is put to death by the state as a result of the punishment for committing a crime. The judiciary decrees that individual should be punished in this way is called a death sentence, and the real procedure of killing the individual is referred to as an execution. There are numerous crimes, which can possibly become the reason for the death penalty and they are called as the capital offences or capital crimes.

The matter of the execution of capital punishment has become an active controversy in numerous states and countries, and positions have been on various positions within a single cultural region or political ideology. The Article 2 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, in the European Union member states, bans the implementation of the capital punishment. At present, the Amnesty International acknowledge majority of the countries as abolitionist. During the years 2007, 2008 and 2010, numerous non-binding resolutions have been adopted by the UN General Assembly that call for a worldwide suspension on executions, leading towards the course of eventual abolition (Joanna, 2005). Though, multiple countries have suspended the occurrence of capital punishment, there are still more than 60% of the people in the entire world's population who are living in the states and countries which undertake to execute such punishments and these include, for example, the United States of America, the People's Republic of China, India, and Indonesia (Joanna, 2005).
