Mission of Minit-Lube is consist of providing fast, reliable and high-quality service/motor plan for the vehicles in the US Market with nice little extras that saves some extras for the customers.

2. How does the Minit-Lube operations strategy provide competitive advantage?

Service Design: Minit-Lube's Specialization strategy in provision of services allows its employees to become more efficient and skilled at their assigned task. Specialization of tasks provides them with an edge to provide with customers more of a high quality services at affordable prices which their competitors cannot match. Minit-Lube U is producing the specialized graduates who are perfecting all the tasks in terms of quality and efficiency. These two service elements are at the heart of every activity performed at Minit-Lube which is allowing them to service more cars effectively and efficiently. Service design of Minit-Lube is built around Efficient and focused operations. That's the difference between the service design of Minit-Lube and its competitors. Competitors provide a thorough planning to their employees but don't have an education facility like Minit-Lube which provides them with diplomas and foster their learning by sharply focusing on a specialized task. Competitors' employees usually perform 2-3 task which are specialized but not sharply specialized.

Quality Strategy: Limited task variety at Minit-Lube has defined the employees what needs to be achieved and when. Employees are clear and sharply focused on the specifications of functions and activities (Sequence, time specification etc.) couples with state of the art training at Minit-Lube U, good manuals and high repetition of tasks has cultivated the work ethic and codes of practices in the employees. This way Minit-Lube has established and implemented a control system which constantly monitors all the outcomes, functions and activities and revise/improves them instantly unlike its competitors who requires a considerable amount of time to implement necessary changes in the system. More activities in the job shift the focus of employees and they take time to learn the new aspect in their jobs which has been implemented as a revision/improvement.

Process Strategy: All the processes at Minit-Lube are streamlined allowing capital investment and employees to focus on the overall mission of an organization (more for less). Depth of analysis is achieved by True focus and specialized activities which results in better assessment of results and better recommendations to improve the overall quality and efficiency of all the processes at Minit-Lube. Processes are simple and straightforward and a clear roadmap of all the activities and processes is helping Minit-Lube to move forward and achieve its strategic objectives. The simple, efficient and straightforward process based management helping organization to improve itself on a daily basis as new things are discovered on almost daily basis and they are implemented quickly due to efficient process management at Minit-Lube.
