Chemical Pest Control

Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to identify the chemical pest control having a dangerous impact on human health. The paper discusses the health risk of the chemical pest control, its effect on environment, risks possessed by the chemical pest control to humans and the alternatives of using the chemical pest control. The chemical pest control which has been chosen for this paper is Pesticides.

Discussion

Pesticides are also considered to be pest control products which are used for destroying, inhibiting and controlling the pest activities. The pesticides are used for reducing troublesome, dangerous and injurious effects caused by the pest. Pests are considered to be the biggest danger for the public health and the environment. The pests are also considered to be a danger for the economy if the economy fails to control them effectively. Thus, pesticides are used for the purpose of controlling the activities of pests and reducing the risks associated with the activities of pests (Science Policy Notice, 2003). At one side pesticides are used for eliminating the pests, but the use of pesticides is also injurious for the human health at the same time.

Health risks that the chemical poses to individuals

The use of pesticides is very high in agriculture for the purpose of preventing the crop damage and killing all the pests which destroy the agricultural fields. Along with the agriculture, pesticides are also used in society, industry and forestry. These are used for different purposes and considered to be beneficial chemical pest control. The pesticides are comprised of different chemical substances along with the different devices, organisms and pheromones which can be applied for the purpose of limiting the pests and decreasing the dangerous effects of the pest. Along with the different benefits of the pests, there are also different health risks increased by the pests on the humans. This is the reason why the pest management regulatory authorities of different countries are imposing the strict regulations on the use sale and import of the pesticides (Bassil, 2007). There are different federal legislation authorities in different countries which are developed for the purpose of imposing regulations on the use of pesticides because of its increased dangers on health of human beings.

According to the research, the infants and the children are greatly affected by the risks associated with the pesticides; therefore, a special consideration is paid on the infants and children for the purpose of assessing the risks of pesticides. The different regulatory authorities have imposed various policies in which there is a need of providing extra protection to the pregnant women and children so that they can be safe from the pesticides effects. These regulatory authorities also monitor the exposure of pesticides from different sources including the water and food. There are different countries like Canada which have formally implemented these policies in law. The use of pesticides chemical has a negative impact on the brain and heart of a human being (Science Policy Notice, ...
