Introduction

In the modern era, standard of living and family needs are only met when mother and father, both work out for the family. They work harder to provide their family a better living; however, this raises the parental concerns if their child is in early years of his age. In past few years, the importance of child care has gained significant attention for the fact that the upbringing of a child is highly influenced on his personality development and behaviour.

Child care setting is raised as a separate field that is quite demanding and filled with opportunities for managers. These opportunities are combined with unique implications for managers based on the issues that might face across various age groups. The setting requires managers to be aware of each child's peculiar nature and create and manage a learning environment that is better than best for the child and helps them to grow in an attractive learning environment.

The paper is aimed at highlighting the importance of learning and development environment in a child care setting and identifies ways to manage it effectively. It strives to present the issues and variations that can be faced by the manager in various age groups and provides the implications that might arise for managers in this context.

Discussion

The early childhood educator ensures the harmonious development of the child. Its main function is to create daily living environments conducive to physical, psychomotor, cognitive, language, social-emotional and moral development of children. He or she accompanies the child in exploring its environment (Abbott, 2008, p.178).

Managers or practitioners were responsible for designing, organizing, managing and evaluating educational activities while promoting the overall development of a child. He or she participates in the organization and evaluation of the activities of groups, sub-groups as well as individual activities. In short, he or she contributes to the creation of a stimulating climate for learning (Hoy et. al., 2000, 9. 67).

Child care also asks practitioners to establish a close partnership relation with parents and other community partners. Its role is also to ensure a consultation on procedures to be performed with children. Finally, he or she must participate actively and regularly in teamwork with colleagues.

Environment for Learning and Development

To work with children of varied age groups could be interesting as it will require a careful preparation and planning combine with attributes and personal skills of managers. The skills could be a comprised of problem solving, communication and the ability to work in teams. It will require managers to create and manage a learning environment that provides children with attractive opportunities to grow (Heinemann, n.d., p. 1).

Learning and child care affect children in their cognitive, language and socio-emotional in early years. When these children come to school, they have striking disparities in terms of capabilities depending on different markers development.
