Introduction

Laws in United States regarding child labor includes, numerous minors working in companies. With growing industrialization, young breed is hired by the factory owners for variety of task. According to the United Stated Department of Labor, laws regarding child labor affect children under 18 years of education in a variety of occupations.

Discussion

Minors are defined to be children under 18 who are required to attend school under the state's Education Code. The National Committee of Child Labor is an effective organization working for the abolishment of all kind of child labor. This committee is functional form 1904, helping in mobilization of the state level child labor laws and regulations. Child labor reforms are merely associated with the compulsory educational laws because educational laws are designed to keep children away from work (Williams, 1999).

Child Labor Reforms and Labor Movements

There are several movements for the protection of rights of the minors. These include the following:

1832 - Condemnation of Child Labor by New England Unions

People of New England strictly condemn working of children in factories form dawn till dust. This opposition inaugurated because of scares recreational and mental activities which are necessary for healthy well being of children. Farmers of the New England Association resolved the mechanics of child labor by this opposition.

1836 - Early Trade Unions (Minimum Age Laws)

Union members of the National Traders Union Convention constituted the first formal proposal for recommending the minimum age for the factory workers.

1836 - The First Law for Child Labor

Children under 15 were required to attend school for at least three months of the same year to be eligible for working in any organization.
