Introduction

China is one of the oldest civilizations in history. It has a history of 5000 years. Primitive Human lived in a place currently known as China. The people living in Yellow River Valley of China, about six to seven thousand years ago supported themselves primarily with agriculture and raising livestock.

The late 1970s saw killings of renowned leaders of Chinese communist party. This period is termed as the period of Chinese revolution, when new leaders led the state. In 1979, China went through a formal diplomatic dialogue with the Americans. Deng was amongst the leaders who brought a revolution in China. The revolution brought economic and political advancement in China. All Chinese leaders after Mao Zedong wanted a change and revolution in every sector of the economy (Buckley Ebrey, 200-240).

In the same era, United States and Soviet Union had to face each other in military encounter, known as the Cold War. China had become a nuclear power now; it defended and supported Soviet Union in the war. The relation between China and United States has always been tensed since the cold war.

Deng Xiaoping became the new leader of China, after the death of Chinese Communist leaders. The new leadership of China wanted to bring reform in the country that could bring economic and political prosperity in the country. The scholars and philosophers are now free to share and discuss their issues as there in no restrictions. In 1981, the Communist Party tried to learn its own development in years and make improvements.

Deng continued his efforts to bring economic and social developments. “Tour of the South” in 1992, brought a relaxation of economic development. Intellectuals in the 1990s are now open to give suggestions unless they directly hit the leadership. China was also ready to take and accept the publications made by a foreigner in favor or against the Chinese system.

Deng took strong measures to bring economic reforms in the country that later showed positive results. He focused on the consumer and export market of the country, in order to bring economic prosperity and well being in the economy. The openness in the policy and economic reforms led to an improved standard of living of the Chinese people. When Deng retired in the late 90s, he passed on the leadership to Jiang Zemin. The country continued to grow economically even foreign countries imposed embargoes on the country's trade. These achievements were made due to the efforts made by Deng.

It made several inroads in history that could make it a super power in the futures.

Factors within China that can contribute to it being the next hegemon

Economy

When economies are facing a difficult situation in recession, Chinese Economy is expanding by double digit. The Chinese currency, Yuan has been appreciating, benefiting the economy. It will also create problems for countries such as America, as the trade deficit of America has been increasing due to being a major trading partner of China.
