Acivil service commission is a government bureau that is constituted by legislature to regulate the employment and working working of civil servants, oversee hiring and promotions, and encourage the values of the public service. Its role is approximately analogous to that of the human resources department in corporations. (Michael , 2008) Civil service commissions are often independent from elected politicians.
