Composition

The Health Sector Committee is chaired and facilitated by the employer (company manager or his representative in the private sector, representing the authority in the public service) (Mcleod, 2008). Its membership includes:

The employer, possibly assisted by staff.

A delegation of staff.

Qualified individuals serving in an advisory capacity (Mcleod, 2008).

The composition and method of appointment of members of the staff delegation varies across sectors. Each HSC has a secretary who is appointed by the delegation of personnel within it (Mcleod, 2008).

Private Sector

In the private sector, the HSC is headed by the entrepreneur or his representative. The delegation of staff is designated by a panel composed of staff representatives and elected officials of the Works (Mcleod, 2008). The elected staff include one third of managers or supervisors. They are elected for two years and may combine this position with other mandates. They do not have alternates.

Public Hospital

In institutions within the public hospital, the HSC is chaired by the Director or the Secretary. The staff delegation is composed of two colleges for doctors and pharmacists on the one hand, for other staff on the other. For physicians and pharmacists, members of the HSC are appointed by the Medical Board of establishment, on the basis of a representative to a workforce of 2500 employees and two beyond. For other categories, the designation is made ??by the unions on the basis of election results of joint committees, and the number of such representatives shall be as in the private sector (Simmons, 2009).

Public Service of the State

In the public service of the State, the authority who chairs the HSC is the Minister for Ministerial CHSCT, the secretary general or director of human resources for the HSC central government, the prefect, the Director or the Director General for local HSC.
