Dell inc. was founded by Michael Dell in 1984. The company manufactures, develops, designs, sells and supports a wide range of product pertaining to the computer hardware industry according to the demands of the customers. As of today the company sells personal computers, software and computer peripherals. They also sell electronic device built by other manufacturers. The company's fortes are its supply chain and e-commerce. It is the number one supplier of personal computers in the world and second all over the world. Dell is a public limited company headquartered in Texas.

Dell`s organizational structure is very complex and fluid and to keep this structure fluid Dell uses strong communications strategy within the organization as well as within the market. It uses the direct method of selling its product to the market without the hassle of a middle man, and helps them reduce cost. Dell also has an agency relationship with many different PR firms. Within the organization Dell uses the Direct Mail System so that everyone can communicate to the higher authorities and hence the flow of information can be passed easily to everyone.

Dell`s success is all due to its strong corporate communication strategy as well as its robust supply chain and e-commerce. It all adds up to its strong market share, where the customer gets what he wants, when he wants and where he wants, without the hassle of going anywhere and hence the slogans such as 'Uniquely You' and 'Easy as Dell'.

The ability to communicate effectively is the secret to success and an essential factor in achieving the objectives set by any company. Since we have entered into the age of knowledge, communication has become the key to spreading that knowledge towards every corner of this planet. A business plan without a sound business strategy would go to waste if it is not communicated properly to all the stakeholder`s of the company. A business without a fluid system of communication may just not be good enough in today's world. Businesses all around the globe use communication strategies to inform all of its stakeholder`s about the current happenings within the business. There should always be a free flow of information within the business so that every stakeholder is well informed and plays an important role in the decision making process. A business with closed communication strategy will fail to generate any interest from its stakeholder and the business will end up losing its share in the market.
