Compare and Contrast Annabel Lee and the Raven

Introduction

Edgar Allan Poe remained in the history of poetry and as an artist, who thought the most superficial idea that genius is not compatible with the skill, gain hard and completely realized work, with the result that the most subtle experience, the most subtle nuance of thought are available to translate the verbal, based on an accurate calculation. Inspired by mathematics pushed his literary contemporaries, they noticed only geometry, but is not in the true sense of his poems, which would give the product of maturity and high sense. Annabel Lee

It is not clear who the character referred Annabel Lee. Biographers and critics have suggested that recurrent utilize of the subject of "death of a beautiful woman" is derived from the repetitive missing of them all through his life, together with his mother and his foster mother Frances Allan.

The poem “Annabel Lee” is the last piece of work written by Edgar Allan Poe. As in many other poetic works of Poe, poem develops the theme of the death of a young woman. The narrator, who falls in love with Annabel Lee in his youth, he loved her with such force that even the angels begin to envy (Ingram, pp. 387-488). Love for her does not die even after her death. There were disputes about the prototype, if any, took place that inspired the author to create the image of Annabel Lee. A number of women were considered, but most likely it was the writer's wife, Virginia Eliza Klemm. The poem was written in 1849, but it did not publish until after his death that same year.

Theme

The theme of the poem “Annabel Lee” is about a love so strong that it surpasses throughout time, even after death. This poem was Poe's last and reflected his true life situation, therefore confirming the fact that his works were mostly about his own experiences.
