This paper will be comparing two versions of "The Lady with the Pet Dog" written by Anton Chekhov and Joyce Carol Oates. “The Lady with the Pet Dog” covers the main stages of adultery with Anne married man. Anna, a married woman, meets her lover for the first time at the beach. After the termination of relations, “he takes her to Albany, and finally returned with her husband in Ohio” (Daly, 85). In the first scene, in a local concert, secret lover, he turns to her and the next day to resume their relationship, meeting at the hotel. Finally, Anna's vision of happiness remains ambiguous.

The first section consists of a central stage in a concert audience.
