Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is a type of system, medical care and health services, and experiences and products that currently are not part of conventional medicine. It also examines the challenges of CAM research, concerns about payment, licensing, education and legal and ethical issues and the need for an integrated approach to CAM. (Astin, 2009)
