Concept of History and Society

Introduction

The three authors which have been selected represent a historical progression of ideology development of society. Jean-Jacques Rousseau published a book “Discourse on inequality”, which criticized the work of Hobbes for stressing about his opinion about the “state of nature” of the man. Rousseau argued that the society contains mortal people who are uncorrupt and he was admirer of the people who expressed themselves openly. Rousseau stressed that the human development is a result of progressive development of human encounter with nature. A human is very gentle when it is at its primitive state and as it encounters the brutality of the world, he is transformed into a different, more brutal person. He feels that this transformation is a result of success whereas it a path towards destruction. Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, is best known for developing a detailed structure or more importantly a system, which idealize the relation mind and nature to be of the highest level. His framework represented a developmental and integrated way for the relationship of nature and mind, the object and subject of information, philosophy, religion, art, history, the state and psychology. His development focused on the idea which stated that spirit or mind presents themselves as oppositions and contradictions which later on results in unification and integration. He added that in this process, the either one of them are not reduced neither get polarized. He gave examples of such contradictions, of freedom and nature. Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche presented the central idea of affirmation in life. His theories questioned the established norms and practices of the people which consumed too much energy. He disregarded all the concepts held at that time without considering the popular beliefs and association of it with the people.
