As like previous (first) edition, the new edition, edited by Morton Deutsch, of the Handbook of Conflict Resolution gives a complete impression of the area of conflict resolution, the book emphasizes on practical organization of conflicts and the exploration of win-win situation. This book is written with the purpose of giving information to professionals and at the same time easily available to newcomers of the subject. In the book author make the contribution of leading scholars, and discussed broad variety of practical and theoretical issues in the chapters. The author has updated all the chapters of the previous edition, some chapters are extensively updated and some are not as much of. Furthermore author added 12 new chapters.

Discussion

The first part of the book covers the intergroup and interpersonal processes, and examination of basic concepts is given in it out of which some have wide range of applicability, communication, collaboration and competition, power, trust, and justice. Latest chapters comprise of one on "Gender, Conflict, and the Family," and one concerning with "Language, Peace, and Conflict Resolution." The next, little part is on "Intrapsychic Processes." A new chapter on Emotion and Conflict in this section is added by Evelin Linder, a humiliation expert, the effects of emotion on conflicts and effects of conflicts on emotions are examined in the chapter. Furthermore to identify the effects of humiliation, Evelin Linder discussed hatred, fear, guilt, and anger as drivers of conflict. On the other side Evelin Linder observes warmth, hope, and confidence, and summarizes by emphasizing how to get involved in conflict to manage harmful emotions and encourages constructive ones (Linder, E. 2006).
